Hi orinoco-users ;)

I'm currently experiencing problems with orinoco 0.15 (see log below).

The distro is an up to date Mandriva 2007.0.

If I boot my computer and I forget to turn on my wifi router before, the
computer becomes incredibly slow after a few minutes (up to the point that
I'm compelled to reboot it the hard way).

So I let it a looong time in this state (may be 15 minutes) and rebooted to
check my /var/log/messages file. (see below)
Among a lot of error messages from orinoco, I get this "Error -110 writing Tx
descriptor to BAP" that I found in the FAQ here:
http://www.nongnu.org/orinoco/documentation/index.html#q6 where the devs ask
for "reports of this behaviour on current versions", so here it is...
This message seems to happen a veryu large amount of times, since I can read
the message "printk: 1221 messages suppressed" (or so) after each of them...

Can you please help me? I volunteer for any tests in order to find the
problem.

PS: the MA311 is eth0, while eth1 is a non used ethernet card.

PPS: if I don't power up the wifi router the "freeze" process is the same,
except that it takes more time (a few minutes).

It may be more useful if you send the kernel messages as shown by dmesg,
not the kernel log processed by klogd. In particular, the messages from
the orinoco driver initialization may be useful (such as the firmware
version). Also the messages immediately before the "Error -110" message
may be useful.

Also, please try to do all operations manually (using ifconfig and
iwconfig) instead of relying on various utilities and scripts. It could
help pinpoint the cause.

Generally, "Error -110" indicates that the firmware stopped functioning.
Such problems are notoriously hard to debug because we don't control the
firmware. However, more information could help work around this
problem. For instance, if the firmware is too old, you could update it.
