Hello all,

I sucessfully compiled the orinoco usb driver with the 2.6.16 Kernel on a Debian system. After checking out

svn co https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/orinoco/branches/usb orinoco

compiling breaks with an error, that the file compat.h is missed. To avoid this, you can get the compat.h from here

svn co https://svn.sf.net/svnroot/orinoco/trunk

After putting it in the orinoco-directory, the compiling will success.

Regards, P.

Fixed in subversion. Thanks!

Hello again,

another hint concerning the firmware:

You have to take
ftp://ftp.avaya.com/incoming/Up1cku9/tsoweb/avayawireless/AV_WINXP_PC_USB_SR0201.zip
and
http://folk.uio.no/oeysteio/orinoco-usb/get_ezusb_fw

Put both files into the same folder and execute
sh get_ezusb_fw

This produces the file orinoco_ezusb_fw. That file must be copied in the directory /lib/firmware (and NOT to /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/ as it was before). Otherwise modprobe orinoco_usb fails.

Regards.

You have to take
ftp://ftp.avaya.com/incoming/Up1cku9/tsoweb/avayawireless/AV_WINXP_PC_USB_S
R0201.zip and
http://folk.uio.no/oeysteio/orinoco-usb/get_ezusb_fw
Put both files into the same folder and execute
sh get_ezusb_fw
I don't think you _have_ to do this - at least I didn't.
The script get_ezusb_fw seemed to work for me.
