Using the latest (1298) orinoco usb driver on Debian, kernel 2.6.23
(although I had this problem with kernel 2.6.22), I'm experiencing
disconnection when the connection stays idle for a few minutes. Now I
have noticed this behavior sometimes after a package update (not related
to the kernel). When disconnection occurs, ifconfig states my eth1 card
still has an assigned address although I cannot ping the router. If I
launch a new dhcp client, it appears to connect with the router but
fails to access the internet. The only way to restore the connection is
the reset the network essid in iwconfig. As this problem happenned after
a package update, I suspect it might not be related to the driver but
still, any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks
